Multilokalität als Lebensform

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Jüngste Erkenntnisse der Migrationsforschung haben dazu geführt, die Migration nicht mehr als einmaligen, linearen Vorgang im Sinne eines Vorher und Nachher zu verstehen, sondern als Lebensform, die gleichzeitig mehr als einen regelmäßigen Wohn- und Lebensort beinhaltet. Angehörige der gleichen Migrationsfamilien leben gleichzeitig an mehreren Orten – im Herkunftsland und im Einwanderungsland. Migration zeigt sich nicht nur in multilokalen Lebensformen, häufig ist mit dieser transnationalen Lebensweise auch ein transprofessionaler Berufsalltag verknüpft. Allerdings trifft dies längst nicht für alle Migrantinnen und Migranten zu – es gibt ebenfalls noch die klassische Migration als zeitlich versetzten und mehr oder weniger einmaligen Wechsel des Lebensortes. Dies gilt vor allem für wenig qualifizierte Arbeitsmigranten.
