Abstract

Zusammenfassung In den einzelnen Weltregionen haben sich die Zahlen der Migrierenden und der Asylsuchenden sehr unterschiedlich entwickelt. Haupteinwanderungsgebiete für Arbeitsuchende sind nach wie vor Europa, die USA und die arabischen Staaten. Auswanderungsländer sind im Prinzip alle Staaten, deren Arbeitsmärkte die vielen Arbeitsuchenden nicht mehr aufnehmen können, oder Länder, die unter einem tiefen Lohnniveau leiden. Ein Teil der Migranten sind aber auch ganz einfach Menschen, welche ihre Lebenssituation oder ihr Einkommen verbessern wollen. Asylsuchende und Flüchtlinge konzentrieren sich auf der einen Seite auf die unmittelbar an Kriegsgebiete angrenzenden Staaten in Zentralasien, im Nahen Osten und in Ostafrika. Auf der anderen Seite suchen viele Asylsuchende und Flüchtlinge eine neue Heimat in west- und mitteleuropäischen Ländern, in den USA und auch in Australien und Neuseeland. Herkunftsländer der Flüchtlinge sind vor allem Kriegsgebiete, so genannte „failed states“ und Staaten, die unter Terrorismus leiden, aber auch Länder, die von Umweltzerstörung und Klimafolgen betroffen sind.
