Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel werden die Anfänge des Themas dargestellt sowie die Historie und der Entwicklungsverlauf bis in die heutige Zeit. Wann waren die ersten Überlegungen für eine Stärkenorientierung? In welchen Disziplinen wurde diese Perspektive als erstes eingenommen und welche Vertreter haben das Thema insbesondere forciert? Ferner wird in diesem Kapitel auf mögliche Ableitungen für das Management hingewiesen, wie zum Beispiel die Output-Orientierung. Der Abgleich mit der heutigen Praxis ist enttäuschend, denn es kann konstatiert werden, dass das potenzialträchtige Konzept noch zu wenig in der Praxis gelebt wird. Die vorscheinenden Gründe hierfür liegen im starken Defizitfokus nach dem das gesamte gesellschaftliche System funktioniert und aufgebaut ist. Obschon der Weg durch zahlreiche Diskurse eröffnet und geebnet ist, kann konstatiert werden, dass er in der täglichen Praxis dennoch zu wenig Anwendung findet und forciert wird. Das führt zu einem hohen Potenzialverlust in Organisationen. Nach Saleebey (1996) ist die Stärkenperspektive ein Blickwinkel, der eine besondere Denkweise und ein spezielles methodisches Arbeiten erfordert und ermöglicht.
