Abstract

Zusammenfassung Im Jahr 2021 betrachtet die Wissenschaft sieben Treibhausgase (THG) als die wichtigsten. Dazu gehören drei sehr bedeutende Gase: Kohlendioxid CO2, Methan CH4 und Lachgas N2O. Zusätzlich sind einige Fluorgase noch wegen ihrer Langlebigkeit relevant. Der Treibhauseffekt samt der bedeutenden Rolle des Wasserdampfs (Wolken) wird anschaulich erklärt und die jeweiligen Quellen und auch potentiellen Senken aufgezeigt, d. h. Stellen, wo bisherige in der Atmosphäre freien THG für längere Zeit „gebunden“ werden können – wie etwa CO2 in sehr langlebigen Pflanzen. Die historischen politischen Prozesse zur Eindämmung bzw. Verminderung der Emissionen bestimmter THG werden diskutiert, samt den Anreizwirkungen für umfassende globale Kooperation. Simple Regeln wie „One man – one CO2-right!“ oder Beschränkung von Emissionen bei gleichzeitiger Zerstörung der ökologischen Senken werden diskutiert.
