Abstract

Zusammenfassung Visuelle Eindrücke stellen einen zentralen Moment in der Beratung, Verhandlung und Mediation dar, sei es z. B. durch die Umgebung, die Architektur, den Raum, die Inneneinrichtung und Positionierung von Gegenständen oder die Selbstpräsentation. Welche bedeutende Rolle das Ambiente hat, zeigte bereits eine berühmt gewordene Untersuchung von Ellen Langer, die eine Gruppe von Männern durch die konsequente Gestaltung der Räumlichkeiten und Interaktionen auf eine „Zeitreise“ in die Vergangenheit schickte. Dies führte bei den Beteiligten sogar zu nachweislichen physiologischen Verbesserungen. Im vorliegenden Kapitel werden die primenden Effekte der Umgebungsbedingungen, des Raums, von Artefakten, Blumen und Naturelementen sowie der Kleidung veranschaulicht.
