Abstract

Zusammenfassung . Sukzessive werden zunächst der Forschungsaufwand der globalen Pharmaindustrie, der weltweite Medikamentenverbrauch, die Umsatzentwicklung im Ganzen sowie aufgeschlüsselt auf Großfirmen und Regionen, die Handelsbilanz pharmazeutischer Produkte sowie die volkswirtschaftliche Bedeutung der globalen Pharmaindustrie analysiert. Im Weiteren wird dann ein Überblick gegeben über Fusionen und Akquisitionen im Bereich der Pharmaindustrie in den letzten Jahren und deren Hintergründe sowie die zunehmend Fokusierung der Großfirmen auf ähnliche gewinnbringende Produkte. Zuletzt wird die Charakteristik börsennotierter Pharmaaktien diskutiert. All diese Themen werden durch detaillierte Untersuchungen, Tabellen und typische Beispiele ergänzt. Auf regionale Unterschiede wird genauso hingewiesen wie auf analoge Daten und Entwicklungen anderer Industriezweige.
