Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Gesundheitsausgaben stiegen insbesondere in den wohlhabenden Ländern in den letzten Jahrzehnten stetig an und erreichten beispielsweise in den USA 2019 18% des BIP, wobei allerdings die Ausgaben für rezeptpflichtige Medikamente nur etwa 10% davon ausmachten, also 1-2% des BIP. Global gab es diesbezüglich enorme Unterschiede. So lagen die durchschnittlichen Gesundheitsausgaben pro Kopf und Jahr in den USA 2019 bei über 10000 USD, in der Republik Kongo bei 18 USD. Analog zu den Gesundheitsausgaben stieg in manchen industrialisierten Ländern auch der Anteil der jeweiligen Pharmaindustrie bzw. des -sektors am BIP und erreichte beispielsweise in der Schweiz 2017 6% des BIP. Eine detaillierte Auflistung und tabellarische Darstellung dieser und anderer diesbezüglicher Angaben ergibt einen genaueren Überblick über dieses Thema.
