Abstract

Zusammenfassung Es gibt unglaublich viele und unglaublich schwerwiegende Ungerechtigkeiten. Acht Millionen Menschen verhungern jedes Jahr. Milliarden Menschen können ihre Möglichkeiten und Fähigkeiten nicht ausleben. Gleichzeitig werden Einzelne mit unsozialem Verhalten märchenhaft reich. Viele Menschen spüren, dass etwas in der globalen Wirtschaft und ihren Gesellschaften schiefläuft, aber es fällt ihnen schwer, ihr Unbehagen zu artikulieren. Und, vor allem, kann man überhaupt sagen, was „gerecht“ ist? Gibt es nicht viel zu viele verschiedene Vorstellungen von „Gerechtigkeit“? Ist Gerechtigkeit letztlich eine beliebige Meinung? Die Einleitung skizziert den Weg, den das Buch beschreitet, um ein Verständnis von „Gerechtigkeit“ zu entwickeln, das mehr ist als bloße Annahme, sondern das sich auf neue naturwissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse stützt. Dadurch gelingt der Nachweis, dass „Gerechtigkeit“ nicht nur evolutionsbiologisch sehr alt ist und in unserem Gehirn „fest verdrahtet“ ist, sondern, dass man auch inhaltlich bestimmen kann, was „gerecht“ ist.
