Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieser Beitrag behandelt die Fragestellung, wie sich Experten in wissensintensiven Organisationen bzw. Expertenorganisationen, etwa Bildungsinstitutionen, Gesundheitsorganisationen oder auch Professional Service Organizations, wirksam führen lassen. Expertenorganisationen beschäftigen hochqualifizierte Mitarbeitende und weisen Charakteristika auf, die sie von anderen Organisationstypen klar unterscheiden. Die Führung von Experten stellt daher eine besondere Herausforderung dar. Experten erbringen ihre Leistungsbeiträge in einem anspruchsvollen, zunehmend spannungsreichen und wandlungsintensiven Umfeld. Nachfolgend werden die wichtigsten Merkmale von Expertenorganisationen zusammengefasst und mit passenden Führungstheorien und -ansätzen in Bezug gesetzt. Weiterhin werden Führungsbeispiele aus dem Kontext von Expertenorganisationen diskutiert und potenzielle Lösungswege dargelegt. Das Kapitel schliesst mit Gestaltungsempfehlungen für die Führung von Experten, dabei wird auch auf Aspekte des Personalmanagements eingegangen.
