Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die heute für Unternehmen vorherrschenden Umfeldbedingungen sind geprägt durch hohen Wettbewerbsdruck, fortschreitende Globalisierung sowie durch sich dynamisch entwickelnde Märkte und Technologien. Dies führt zu gestiegenen Anforderungen hinsichtlich einer möglichst effektiven und effizienten Informationsversorgung des betrieblichen Leistungserstellungsprozesses. Unternehmen versuchen daher ihre Wettbewerbsfähigkeit durch den Einsatz moderner IT-Systeme zu erhalten oder auszubauen. Eine der bedeutsamsten Entwicklungen der letzten Jahrzehnte stellen dabei Enterprise-Resource-Planning-Systeme (ERP-Systeme) dar. Diese kommerziellen Softwarepakete mit modulartigem Aufbau unterstützen sämtliche Unternehmensbereiche und -prozesse und legen eine zentrale gemeinsame Datenbank zugrunde. Dadurch erfolgt eine ganzheitliche Integration aller unternehmensbezogenen Daten in einem einzigen Informationssystem und der Realtime-Zugriff auf sämtliche Informationen eines Unternehmens wird ermöglicht.
