Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Begriff „Technologie-StackTechnologie-Stack“ beschreibt den Aufbau der in einem Unternehmen verwendeten Hard- und Softwaresysteme über unterschiedliche Ebenen hinweg: Beginnend bei der physischen Infrastruktur der eigenen Server über die notwendigen Netzwerkanbindungen, den Datenspeicher, die Virtualisierungsebenen bis hin zu den verwendeten Applikationen. Die Anwendungsszenarien für APIs in Unternehmen überspannen alle Ebenen des IT-Stacks: Sie steigern die Konnektivität der eigenen physischen Serveranlagen, sie ermöglichen es, zusätzliche IT-Infrastruktur aus der Public Cloud zu beziehen. Darüber hinaus dynamisieren und denzentralisieren APIs die Datenverarbeitung von Unternehmen. So wird es möglich, smarte, KI-gestützte Datenanalyse-Applikationen auf die unternehmenseigenen Datenpools anzuwenden und so selbst zu einem datengetriebenen Unternehmen zu werden.
