Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zahlungsverkehr zwischen Banken ist nur möglich über Änderungen von Interbankforderungen und – verbindlichkeiten („Netto-Interbankposition“). Dies betrifft den Zahlungsverkehr über die Zentralbank, über ein Zentralinstitut innerhalb eines Verbundes und über Korrespondenzbankbeziehungen. Zum Verständnis und Veranschaulichen der Zusammenhänge wird konsequent auf die bilanztechnische Betrachtung mittels T-Konten zurückgegriffen. Buchgeld der Zentralbank kann – als Verbindlichkeit – deren Kontensystem nicht verlassen, analog gilt dies auch für das Buchgeld eines Kreditinstituts. Gezeigt wird, wie gleichwohl der Zahlungsverkehr funktioniert und Geld als Forderung gegen eine Bank beliebig zirkuliert.
