Abstract

Zusammenfassung Kommt es in Konfliktsituationen zum Einsatz physischer Gewalt, so geht dem häufig ein dynamischer wechselseitiger Eskalationsprozess voraus. Zugleich sind die rechtlichen Grenzen polizeilicher Gewaltausübung in der Praxis fließend und im Nachhinein oft schwer zu rekonstruieren. Vor diesem Hintergrund rückt der Beitrag Situation und Interaktion (im Vorfeld) der polizeilichen Gewaltanwendung in den Fokus, um der Frage nachzugehen, wann, wo und warum es zu rechtswidrigen Gewalthandlungen durch Polizeibeamt*innen kommt. Es wird ein Überblick über den nationalen sowie internationalen Forschungsstand zu individuellen, situativen und organisationalen Risikofaktoren gegeben. Im Anschluss wird dargestellt, welche Auslöser es aus Bürger*innenperspektive für rechtswidrige polizeiliche Gewalt gibt. Die Daten und Befunde stammen aus einer Online-Befragung von Personen (N = 3373), die polizeiliche Gewalt erlebt haben, die sie als rechtswidrig bewerteten, die 2018 im Rahmen des DFG-Projekts „Körperverletzung im Amt durch Polizeibeamt*innen“ durchgeführt wurde.
