Abstract

Der Beitrag interpretiert das Merkwürdige Rechnungsexempel von Johann Peter Hebel aus dem Jahr 1803 und verknüpft es mit aktuellen ökonomischen und steuerrechtlichen Fragestellungen. Die Geschichte lässt sich mit vielfältigen Bezügen in die Gegenwart übertragen. Über die formale Lösung hinaus warden zunächst entscheidungstheoretische Aspekte aufgezeigt. Steuerrechtliche Anknüpfungen zeigen sich bei der Qualifikation der Tätigkeit, der Verlustbehandlung und der Bestimmung der Abgabenlast. Auch für steuergestalterische Aspekte bleibt viel assoziativer Raum.
