Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel handelt von Konflikten im engeren Sinn: erbitterten Auseinandersetzungen zwischen Personen oder Gruppen, die nur noch destruktiv sind und alle Beteiligten in höchstem Maß belasten. Psychologische Mechanismen sorgen dafür, dass sich diese Konflikte nicht auflösen, sondern immer weiter verhärten und eskalieren. Bei einem Konflikt in ihrem Zuständigkeitsbereich müssen Führungskräfte sofort handeln. Aber die üblichen Vorgehensweisen zur Streitschlichtung laufen bei einem Konflikt ins Leere; schlimmstenfalls ziehen sie die Führungskraft in den Konflikt hinein. Wer in einem Konflikt intervenieren will, muss wissen, welche Mechanismen darin wirken und wie man diese von außen beeinflussen kann.
