Abstract

Zusammenfassung Ausgewählte Algorithmen bieten oft überraschende Antworten auf vielfältige Fragen. Der „Bergsteigeralgorithmus“ zeigt auf, wie man große Ziele erreicht, nicht kleine Ziele schon als Maximum wahrnimmt. Das „Stopp-Problem“ entwickelt Lösungen bei einmaligen Entscheidungen, klärt wie lange man suchen und wann die Zeit zur Entscheidung gekommen ist. Gotts‘ Algorithmus gibt Hinweise wie lange eine bestimmte Situation noch anhalten, ein Unternehmen noch existieren wird. Allerdings kennt kein Algorithmus moralische oder ethische Kriterien. Menschen reagieren auf unfaires Verhalten sehr empfindlich, sind in Versuchsanordnungen wieder und wieder bereit auf den eigenen Vorteil zu verzichten, um unfaire Teilnehmer abzustrafen. Nicht zuletzt deshalb muss am Ende jeder Entscheidung immer ein Mensch stehen.
