Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel wird Leadership aus einem umfangreichen Corpus von Definitionen als soziales Beeinflussungsverhalten eines Individuums auf andere Personen, auf Gruppen und auf ganze Organisationen definiert, um bestimmte Organisationsziele zu erreichen. Das Leadershipverhalten wird als integraler Bestandteil des Managements angesehen, das sich auf zwischenmenschliche und strategische Aspekte bezieht. Leader sollen den Informationsfluss mit ihren Mitarbeitern und Mitarbeiterinnen sichern, ihnen die erforderlichen Ressourcen zur Verfügung stellen sowie günstige Rahmenbedingungen für die unternehmerische Zielerreichung schaffen. Den perfekten Leader gibt es nicht, aber er sollte die gestellten Zielsetzungen durch ein adäquates Verhalten und durch den Einsatz entsprechender Methoden erreichen. Leader müssen sich auf rasante technologiegetriebene Geschäftsmodelle einstellen, mit Mehrdeutigkeit leben, die Komplexität beherrschen, zahlreiche Kompetenzen kombinieren und sich auf wandelnde Bedürfnisse einstellen. Ein effizienter Leader ist ein permanent Übender, der seine Vertikalspannungen ständig ausdehnt und seine Follower zum eigenen Üben anleitet.
