Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Aufgaben und Herausforderungen des Textilsektors zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit sind vielfältig und altbekannt, doch es brauchte leider erst eine Katastrophe, um sie in den Fokus der Öffentlichkeit zu rücken: Der Einsturz der Textilfabrik Rana Plaza in Bangladesch am 24. April 2013 leitete den Wendepunkt in der Wahrnehmung der Textilindustrie ein – sowohl für Verbraucher als auch für Textilunternehmen. Für viele war es der Ursprung des Umdenkens – und der Frage „wie können Textilunternehmen eigentlich noch in Bangladesch produzieren lassen?“ Die HAKRO GmbH ltut es weiterhin, auch sieben Jahre nach Rana Plaza, und sogar mit Stolz.
