Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der gesellschaftliche Wandel, die immer lauter vernehmbare Forderung der jüngeren Generation von Mitarbeitern und Führungskräften nach Verträglichkeit von Arbeits- und Privatleben, die Suche nach einer befriedigenden Tätigkeit sowie die Komplexität einer neuen Arbeitswelt verändern die Ansprüche an aktuelle und zukünftige Führungskräfte. In diesem Umfeld stellt emotional intelligentes Verhalten von Führungskräften keine weiche Variante des Führungsstils dar. Vielmehr dient es dazu, das Unternehmen auf die Herausforderungen der Zukunft auszurichten und die Menschen mitzunehmen. Das vorliegende Buch ist ein Plädoyer für eine zeitgemäße Führung von Mitarbeitern, Abteilungen, Kollegen und der eigenen Person. Die Ausführungen entsprechen unserer Überzeugung, wonach sich Identifikation, Inspiration, Leidenschaft und der Wille, einen Beitrag zu leisten, aus dem Zweck des Unternehmens ableiten sollten. Prinzipien, die Führungskräften eine Leitlinie für geschicktes Handeln an die Hand geben, kommt in der emotional intelligenten Führung eine zentrale Rolle zu.
