Abstract

Zusammenfassung Da PR eindeutig zum Unternehmenserfolg beiträgt und somit eine Führungsaufgabe ist, muss PR auch durch Controlling als Managementunterstützung, Steuerungsinstanz und Transparenzinstrument erfasst werden (können). Eine wesentliche Schwierigkeit ergibt sich daraus, dass die Leistungen und Erfolge von PR nicht unmittelbar in Geldeinheiten ausgedrückt werden können. Damit ist eine rein finanzielle Sicht auf das PR-Controlling weder möglich noch sinnvoll. Dieser Artikel zeigt, wie nützlich Controlling für PR ist, wie strategisches und operatives Controlling ineinandergreifen und welche Instrumente dafür eingesetzt werden können. Das strategische PR-Controlling verfolgt dabei das Ziel, den Beitrag von Kommunikation zur Wertschöpfung des Unternehmens sichtbar zu machen. Das operative PR-Controlling soll die laufenden Prozesse und Ergebnisse der Kommunikationsaktivitäten erfassen und bewerten.
