Abstract

Zusammenfassung Erst durch Auswahl und Interpretation gewinnen Daten ihre Bedeutung. In diesem Kapitel geht es darum, welche falschen Gewissheiten und bewussten Manipulationen uns bei der Interpretation der Daten beeinflussen und wie wir uns davor schützen können. Je mehr Macht den Daten zugesprochen wird, desto stärker gewinnen auch ethische Fragen an Relevanz: der Schutz der Privatsphäre, die Rolle von Algorithmen beim Treffen von Entscheidungen und die Voreingenommenheit von Maschinen geraten in den Blick.
