Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Buch präsentierte eine erste theoretische Einführung in eine Nutzen-Theorie des Informationsaustauschs und der Privatsphäre. Mögliche Einschränkungen bestehen darin, dass einige Kommunikationsmittel möglicherweise nicht in das gesamte Modell integriert sind, wie z. B. nonverbale Kommunikation oder emotionale Reaktionen. Im Allgemeinen ist der Informationsaustausch sehr heterogen und es werden große internationale Unterschiede angenommen. Darüber hinaus bleibt die Online-Kommunikation zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten und unter unterschiedlichsten Umständen ein zu wenig erforschtes Thema. Als nächster Forschungsschritt wird eine zwingende Hypothesentestung des vorgestellten Problems empfohlen. So werden beispielsweise zukünftige Forschungsprojekte mit einem multimethodischen Ansatz dazu beitragen, wertvolle Informationen über die tatsächliche Leistung und das Verhalten beim Informationsaustausch und der Wahrung der Privatsphäre zu gewinnen. Die Interaktion von Individuen auf Sozialen Medien sollte untersucht werden, um daraus praxisrelevante wirtschaftliche Erkenntnisse für rechtliche und politische Zwecke abzuleiten und gleichzeitig ein aufkommendes Wissenschaftsgebiet voranzutreiben.
