Einfluss von Chief Financial Officers auf die Ausgestaltung des Controllings

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Neben dem Einfluss von organisationalen und externen Faktoren wurde in jüngerer Zeit vermehrt auch der Einfluss von Topmanagement-Mitgliedern auf die Ausgestaltung von Controlling-Systemen erforscht. Aufgrund der häufigen Funktionsverantwortung für Controlling scheint dabei der Einfluss von Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) besonders hoch zu sein. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt daher eine Übersicht über bisherige Forschungsergebnisse zum Einfluss von CFOs auf die Ausgestaltung des Controllings. Zusammengefasst zeigen diese Ergebnisse, dass CFOs, die eine wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Ausbildung genossen haben und/oder weniger lange im betreffenden Unternehmen aktiv sind, mit besser ausgebauten bzw. innovativeren Controlling-Systemen assoziiert werden können. Zudem deuten bisherige Studien an, dass vielfach die unternehmensexterne Rekrutierung von CFOs als Anstoß für den Aufbau bzw. den Wandel von Controlling-Systemen dient. Trotz eines deutlichen Anstiegs von Forschungsarbeiten zum Thema bieten sich noch vielfältige Möglichkeiten für die weitere Erforschung des Einflusses von CFOs auf die Ausgestaltung des Controllings an – einige davon werden am Ende des Beitrags skizziert.
