Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Bedeutung modularer Produktarchitekturen bei der Reduzierung der Komplexität des betrieblichen Leistungserstellungsprozesses ist heute unbestritten und bereits vielfach in der Literatur beschrieben (vgl. Kersten 2002; Kersten & Koppenhagen 2002; Eitelwein 2009; Skirde 2015). Um den Wirkmechanismus modularer Produktarchitekturen zu verstehen, ist es unerlässlich, sich die definitorischen Merkmale von Modularität auf systemtechnischer Ebene zu vergegenwärtigen. Modularität ist ein strukturbeschreibendes Merkmal von Systemen.
