The Relationship Between Financial Resource Allocation Efficiency and Growth in Different Areas of China

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze empirically the relationship between financial resource allocation efficiency and economic growth in China. This paper examines the economic performance of financial resources in China’s 31 regions for the period 1978–2010. Based on the analysis of Wurgler, the empirical results indicate that different regions’ financial resources allocation have different impacts on the economic growth. In short, the East performs much better than the Middle and West areas. Besides, the result of our study shows that there is a positive and significant association between financial resource allocation efficiency and economic growth. Meanwhile, financial department plays an important role in financial allocation efficiency and economic growth. So the government should make full use of the financial markets to achieve a better performance.
