Abstract

With regard to many uncertain factors which the process of military equipment maintenance support undertaken by contractors exists, this paper focuses on analysis and assessment of contractor support risks. Firstly, the whole procedure of the contractor support is formal described. Eight risk factors are identified through three aspects, including the army, the contractor, and both concerned parties. Secondly, a Bayesian Network diagram of these risk factors is constructed. Through an example, it has demonstrated the forward reasoning process of equipment maintenance contractor support risks, with using Bayesian Networks rational arithmetic. In order to control the most influencing risk factors, the sensitivity of different risk factors is finally analyzed. This method to identify, classify, and assess risks is useful for the army to prevent risks from occurring.
