Abstract

Zusammenfassung Konzepte zur Unternehmensentwicklung können grundsätzlich in evolutionäre und in revolutionäre unterschieden werden. Die einen, wie das asiatische Kaizen, zielen auf kontinuierliche Verbesserungsprozesse. Die Optimierung der Strukturen und Prozesse erfolgt Schritt für Schritt. Die Gestalt des Unternehmens wird keinem grundlegenden Wandel unterzogen. Ganz anders wird bei Konzepten des radikalen Wandels, wie zum Beispiel bei Business Reengineering-Ansätzen, vorgegangen. Entscheidungswege werden verkürzt, Unternehmen werden dezentralisiert, die funktionale Gliederung tritt in den Hintergrund zugunsten kundenorientierter Wertschöpfungsketten und einer entsprechenden Prozeßorientierung. Hierbei kann nicht halbe Sache gemacht werden, der Erfolg liegt in der Konsequenz. Unternehmen, die sich solchen Radikalkuren unterziehen, verfügen danach über ein völlig neues Aussehen.
