Abstract

Designing an attractive earn and redemption strategy is important, but equally important are the necessary skills and capabilities required to run a successful loyalty program. In this chapter, de Boer and Chin lay out the various corporate structures for loyalty programs, in addition to identifying the key capabilities required to pursue the currency effect fully. De Boer and Chin also look at the services offered by external consultants—and explore how to optimize the use of consultants. In this chapter, the authors also offer practical advice for those wanting to pursue a career in loyalty management.
