Abstract

This chapter takes readers through the history of banking, tracing its evolution from ancient grain banks to the first modern banks, such as the Medici Bank up to modern banking. It explores how banking practices, trust, and customer relationships have evolved over the centuries, offering a foundation for understanding the current challenges banks face.
