Abstract

Entrepreneurship can best position its potential of inclusivity and transformativity in the case of female migrants. Many women, in their pursuit of economic and social legitimation, migrate and embark on entrepreneurial journeys to escape the scarcity of opportunities. This facet of entrepreneurship studies promises to enrich the content and extend the boundaries of the discipline. This chapter will discuss the main typologies of entrepreneurship as linked to migration flows, the opportunities that arise from migration, the challenges female migrant entrepreneurs face, and their motivation to undertake entrepreneurial activities in the host country. The chapter concludes with a case study about ‘Yorkshire Damacheese’, a case of a successful Syrian migrant entrepreneur in the food industry.
