Abstract

This chapter delves into the increasingly significant role that AI is playing in the stock market, focusing on its impact on the financial sector of the Middle East. It explores how AI algorithms are used for complex financial analyses, predicting market trends, and executing trades at speeds and volumes unattainable by human traders. The chapter discusses the advent of robot advisors, AI-driven investment platforms that offer personalized portfolio management services, and how they're gaining traction among Middle Eastern investors. Moreover, the chapter addresses the broader implications of AI in finance, such as potential changes in employment as AI tools augment or replace traditional jobs in stock market analysis and trading. It also examines the ethical considerations, including the fairness of AI-driven trading and the challenges of ensuring transparency and accountability in AI decision-making. While detailing the technological advancements, the chapter does not shy away from discussing the risks and volatility introduced by AI, such as flash crashes caused by algorithmic trading errors. It concludes by contemplating the future of AI in the stock market of the Middle East, considering regulatory developments and the potential for these technologies to democratize investing, making it more accessible to the general public.
