Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic culminated in a global decline in economic activity, leaving many businesses grappling with losses. This unprecedented disruption compelled businesses to adopt digital technologies to survive and maintain continuity rapidly. This chapter explores the crucial role of technology as an anchor for economists, accountants, and business professionals in business recovery. It highlights how technological advancements, such as artificial intelligence, big data, and digital payment systems, have revolutionised economic forecasting, financial reporting, decision-making, and customer interactions. The chapter emphasises the importance of embracing digital tools to enhance efficiency, compliance, and strategic planning, thereby ensuring resilient and sustainable business operations in the post-pandemic era
