Abstract

In recent years, the integration of sustainable finance principles into economic systems has gained momentum globally as a means to address environmental and social challenges while fostering economic growth. This chapter explores the multifaceted impact of sustainable finance on economic growth within the context of Sub-Saharan Africa. Understanding the nexus between sustainable finance and economic development becomes paramount as the region grapples with unique economic and environmental challenges. Through an examination of key sustainability initiatives, financial instruments, and policy frameworks, this study investigates how sustainable finance practices can contribute to long-term economic growth, financial stability, and resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa. The findings illuminate the potential benefits, challenges, and opportunities associated with embedding sustainability in financial systems, offering insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and investors seeking to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the region.
