Abstract

The concluding chapter of this book on Shari’a-compliant equity screening methods reviews the key findings and recommendations. It emphasises the historical development of these methodologies and the need to improve them as the Islamic finance industry evolves. The book proposes policy changes to support this industry’s growth and strengthen the integration of Shari’a principles. It acknowledges limitations, such as the focus on existing methodologies potentially overlooking practicalities and the potential bias from scholars’ perspectives. However, the book’s originality lies in proposing enhancements for stricter adherence to Shari’a principles. It highlights promising future avenues for research, including exploring the practicality of various screening methods and incorporating socially responsible investment principles.
