Abstract

This book shows you how to use our framework Creativity Loops–Based Decision Making (CLBDM) to enhance your creativity in decision making by applying systems thinking principles and tools. CLBDM consists of six steps that involve identifying and using feedback loops to generate, evaluate, and implement novel and useful solutions. We provide examples and case studies of how CLBDM and systems thinking have been applied in different domains and contexts. We also explain some of the common challenges and barriers that affect creativity in decision making, such as cognitive biases, mental models, organizational culture, time pressure, and more. We provide strategies for overcoming or preventing these challenges and barriers, such as seeking and using feedback, challenging one’s assumptions, fostering a culture of learning and innovation, managing one’s time and resources, and more. We also introduce some powerful tools and techniques that can boost your creativity and decision making skills, such as brainstorming, mind mapping, and scenario analysis. We hope that this book will give you a clear and comprehensive overview of our framework, CLBDM, and inspire you to apply it in your context and domain.
