Abstract

This chapter introduces the system of Buddhist thoughts or the Buddha’s perfect wisdom in a way pertinent to scientists and scientific inquiries. This chapter is based largely on Lama Tsongkhapa’s elucidation of Buddhism, which is known as the absurd Middle Way. The essential message of the perfection of wisdom is emptiness, more elaboratively, lack of the self as well as the lack of inherent existence. With science inquiries in mind, the present author addresses three questions. The first is the question of “I.” The second is the question of life, which is the matter of sentient beings and the cycle of existence. The third is the question of the worlds far beyond us, which is sometimes described as the billionfold universes and Indra’s Net. All things are minds alone and your mind is a creator of all the worlds. This key message of Mind-only will be the foundation of the grand synthesis to be offered in the final chapter of this book for scientists.
