Abstract

The economy of Vietnam is experiencing sustainable economic growth. Specifically, GDP is a very powerful metric to gauge the economic health of a country, and it reflects a country’s total output. Thus, the purpose of this study is to assess that the macroeconomic background in Vietnam is at a stable level, based on the close association of macroeconomic factors with the significant impact of shocks from the world economy; simultaneously, it also analyzes how human capital and physical capital interact to influence the economic growth of Vietnam. As a response to analyzing mechanisms of economic growth between 1986 and 2021, the present paper discovered that economic variables, human capital, and physical capital can contribute to economic growth in different time dimensions, but their respective efficiency varies. As a result of the research, the author also gives some recommendations for economic development in Vietnam.
