Abstract

This chapter discusses general issues of public policy. The first section covers the basic concepts of public policy, from the original definitions and the more recently given definitions. The next section is the concept of policy analysis, the subject of public policy analysis, and the requirements and criteria for a public policy analysis. The last part of the chapter discusses, analyzes, and conveys the issues of the public policy analyst profession, the factors influencing policy analysis, and the processes involved in policy analysis.
