Abstract

This chapter synthesizes insights from the preceding analyses to project future economic and social trajectories for Lebanon in the context of the ongoing Syrian refugee crisis. This chapter not only provides a forward-looking perspective on the challenges Lebanon faces but also proposes a comprehensive set of strategic recommendations aimed at fostering resilience and sustainable development. Drawing on lessons learned from the impacts of the crisis on Lebanon’s economy, labour market, inflation, trade dynamics, and the international response, the chapter outlines actionable policy measures for both the Lebanese government and the international community. Emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts, it advocates for policies that balance immediate humanitarian needs with long-term economic planning. The recommendations are designed to guide Lebanon towards a path of recovery and growth, ensuring that the nation and its people—both Lebanese and refugees—can thrive in the aftermath of the crisis.
