Abstract

The role of labour and employmentLabour and employment regulation in a shift towards more sustainable modes of productionMore sustainable modes of production, the relationship between, and the synergies and/or conflicts between, labour and environmental lawLabour and environmental law, their underlying normative projects and the interaction between the regulatory frameworks in each area are key issues for labour lawyers (Zbyszewska, in Invitation to Socio Legal Studies Association Annual Seminar 2016, 2016; Comp Labour Law Policy J 40:1–8, 2018a). This Chapter thus explores “how the concerns about work/labour and social sustainability on the one hand, and environment and ecological sustainability on the other intersect with each other, whether in the context of their social organization and social impacts or their regulatory aspects” (ibid.).
