Abstract

This book chapter presents a critical analysis of employee wellbeing in the United Arab Emirates, drawing on a synthesis of previous studies. The chapter investigates the intricate dynamics of employee wellbeing within the distinct socio-cultural context of the United Arab Emirates. Focusing on dimensions such as work–life balance, job satisfaction, mental and physical health, and organizational support, it examines the complex interaction of factors that influence employees’ overall wellness. By analyzing existing research, the chapter explains the role of governmental policies, corporate interventions, and cultural complexities in shaping the wellbeing landscape. It underscores the need for a comprehensive understanding that considers traditional values alongside contemporary work demands. Ultimately, the chapter offers valuable insights for organizations and policymakers seeking to promote employee wellbeing in this dynamic and diverse environment, contributing to the broader discussion on employee welfare and organizational effectiveness.
