Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel greift einen aktuellen Aspekt des globalen Szenarios auf, nämlich Heimarbeiter in Pakistan, die für die Produktion von Fußbällen für einen internationalen Markt im Auftrag von etablierten Marken globaler westlicher Unternehmen engagiert sind. Basierend auf umfangreichen Primärdaten bewertet die Forschung die Arbeitsbedingungen der Fußballnäher(innen) und versucht, die systemische Position von Heimarbeiter(inne)n am unteren Ende globaler Fußballlieferketten zu erklären. Die grundlegende Frage, die im Fall von Heimarbeitern gestellt werden muss, lautet: In welcher Weise werden weibliche Heimarbeiterinnen durch die wirtschaftlichen und politischen Diskurse unsichtbar gemacht? Wir kommen zu dem Schluss, dass wir über die bestehende Ordnung hinausgehen und die historischen, politischen, geographischen und sozialen Beziehungen berücksichtigen müssen, die weibliche Heimarbeiterinnen untereinander und mit den Produktionsprozessen und der politischen Geographie der Arbeit haben, wenn wir die Positionierung weiblicher Heimarbeiterinnen im globalen Produktionssystem und der internationalen Arbeitsteilung verstehen wollen.
