Abstract

Given that Development Banks are very important in providing development finance to the development and growth of emerging and developing economies, this chapter presents a comprehensive introduction to Africa’s Development Banking system. It carefully provides different theoretical perspectives for development banks as well as the changing roles and contributions of Africa’s Development Banks in contemporary times. It highlights the key issues of the various chapters, with specific cases on Development Banks in Africa.
