Abstract

This chapter explores the post-COVID recovery strategies for Indonesia, focusing on the harnessing of digital platforms to drive economic growth. The authors analyze the factors influencing Indonesia’s GDP, employing variance decomposition and impulse response methods. They emphasize the significant impact of COVID-19 on the economy and discuss policy responses, including fiscal, monetary, trade, and health policies. The study underscores the importance of the digital economy in Indonesia’s recovery, pointing out the accelerated adoption of digital technologies during the pandemic. It assesses the challenges, such as the digital divide, and proposes a Quadruple Helix Model for collaboration among government, private sector, academia, and communities to ensure a resilient and inclusive recovery. The authors conclude by emphasizing the need for continued vigilance in health protocols and the integration of digital strategies, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), to propel Indonesia toward sustained economic growth in the post-COVID era.
