Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses letzte Kapitel fasst die Ergebnisse zusammen und verallgemeinert sie. Es vermittelt eine Vorstellung vom Ausmaß der Abhängigkeit der Wirtschaftstheorie von den zugrunde liegenden Institutionen und der Geldtheorie. Indem ein allgemeines und umfassendes institutionelles Rahmenwerk vorgeschlagen wird, das auf jedes Währungssystem einer Zentralregierung angewendet werden kann, wird eine allgemeine Theorie der Seigniorage aufgestellt. Um Letzteres zu demonstrieren, wird die Theorie auf die Eurozone angewandt, wobei die Inflationsgrenzen für staatliche Käufe bestimmt werden. Abschließend werden zwei offene Fragen für die künftige Forschung formuliert. Die erste betrifft das Verhältnis von Geldtheorie und Gleichgewichtstheorie, insbesondere in Bezug auf die Zinssätze. Die zweite Frage ist, ob sich Ähnlichkeiten zwischen Währungen und anderen privat emittierten Verbindlichkeiten, wie Bankgeld oder Derivate, zu ähnlichen, Erträgen aus ihrem Angebot führen könnten.
