Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Geschäftsmodelle großer Pharmaunternehmen beinhalten zunehmend externe F&E-Elemente, die von der Akquisition von Arzneimittelprojekten über die traditionelle Zusammenarbeit mit akademischen Einrichtungen, mehrjährige Forschungspartnerschaften, Crowdsourcing, Zentren für F&E-Exzellenz, Open-Source-Innovation, virtuelle F&E und öffentlich-private Partnerschaften reichen. Diese neuen virtuellen Formen der Organisation von Innovationsprozessen, die gemeinhin als „offene Innovation“ bezeichnet werden, stellen das traditionelle, etablierte, ausschließlich unternehmensinterne F&E-Paradigma in Frage. Ein Ausblick auf den Aufstieg von Corporate Venture Funds in der Pharmaindustrie verdeutlicht, wie wichtig das Management und die Bewertung von geistigem Eigentum in der Life-Science-Branche ist.
