Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die ehemals vollständig integrierte Wertschöpfungskette der Pharmaindustrie zerfällt angesichts des Aufkommens hochkompetenter und spezialisierter Dienstleister für Forschung und klinische Entwicklung. Die Optionen reichen von Outsourcing, Auslizensierung und Einlizensierung bis hin zu strategischen Partnerschaften und gemeinsamer Entwicklung. Diese Konzepte werden ausführlich erörtert und mit Fallbeispielen aus der Industrie illustriert. Wir schließen mit einem Beispiel, wie eine bahnbrechende Innovation am besten von einem kleinen Pharmaunternehmen vermarktet werden kann, das diese Make-or-Buy-Optionen nutzt.
