Abstract

This chapter explains the need to construct a new political system that gives every citizen a role in shaping it and benefiting from it. The folk political system could be defined, using the same words used by US President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, as a “system of the people, by the people, for the people.” However, the structure of the folk political system is different from the existing one in ways that make it less vulnerable to corruption and the influence of money and the misuse of political and economic power. The need to change this system and most other systems is due to the fact that no system can keep its validity while all facets of life continue to change and be transformed.
