Abstract

Development banksDevelopment banks in recent times have been the antidote to the void in the fundingFunding mechanism of DFIs. In particular, the focus of development finance has been diverted to NDBs in attracting and mobilizing the needed capital to support their country’s development efforts and structural transformationStructural transformation. NDBs can take risks that the private sectorPrivate sector would not, and they support projectsProjects that have enormous social benefits but low financial returnsFinancial return.
