Abstract

Diversity intelligence (DQ) evokes the question—why should anyone need it? Diversity management has not been as successful as it could be because we have seen very little change in the workplace since its introduction. DQ will not be embedded with diversity management or diversity and inclusion failure efforts. DQ looks at leadership development and why leaders are not following protected class laws, mandates, and policies while leading all employees. The Hughes HRD Value Creation Model places DQ at the center of workplace strategy efforts to value people and technology. Leaders have shown themselves incapable of leading all their employees despite EQ (emotional), CQ (cultural), and IQ (intellectual) intelligence efforts.
